Holiday Scheme for Year 6 : New uniform details : School Routine : Planners : Frequently Asked Questions
You will be given a planner on your first day at Garforth Academy. This planner will have to last you the whole year so you must look after it.
It is a very important piece of equipment and you must bring it everyday. Your planner has your emergency contact information in it, your timetable, and it is used to record all of your homework. The good and bad comments you receive are recorded here. The planner is also used to organise parents evening appointments later in the year.
Your planner is the main way for parents/carers to monitor what is going on with you at school. It is very important you show your parents/carers your planner regularly so they are up to date and know if there are any problems. Your planner must be signed by your parent/carer over the weekend and then counter-signed by your form tutor on Monday.
Any graffiti and decoration on your planner is not allowed. You may be asked to buy a new one if it is not in very good condition.
If you use your planner well, by recording all homework with due dates and jotting down things you must remember, you will be organised and will not have to worry about forgetting things or knowing you haven't done your homework. This may sound complicated but don't worry - your form tutor will help you to set your planner out and teach you how to use it well. As always, if you need some help, just ask!
