Topics covered : Information and Presentation, Searching and Selecting (internet use), Models and Modelling, Exchanging and sharing information, Control, desktop publishing

1 hour per week in Y8

Topics covered : Data Collection, Public Information Systems, Validity reliability and Bias, Control, Visual imaging, Fund raising spreadsheets

1 hour per week in Y9 (Core)

Topics covered : Media project,  office Applications, Web publishing, Project management

Students also commence KS4 options in Year 9 i.e. students opting for DiDA have 4 hours per week (in addition to core), students opting for  CiDA have 2 hours per week (in addition to core). See KS4 for details of course

Details of KS4:

Certificate in Digital Applications (CiDA) - 2 hours per week

Unit 1: Using ICT (Word processing, Desk-top publishing, Use of Spreadsheets, Databases, Email, web authoring).

Unit 2 Multimedia (Web authoring, video and sounds, animation)

Coursework Assessment only by main project (Summative Project Brief, SPB) for each unit, each approximately 30 hours, allowing access to GCSE-equivalent grades
CiDA equivalent to 2 GCSEs

Diploma in Digital Application (DiDA) - 4 hours per week

Unit 1: Using ICT (Word processing, Desk-top publishing, Use of Spreadsheets, Databases, Email, web authoring). Main project (Summative Project Brief, SPB) for approximately 30 hours allowing access to GCSE-equivalent grades

Unit 2 Multimedia (Web authoring, video and sounds, animation)

Unit 3 Graphics (Vector and  bitmap graphics)

Unit 4 Enterprise (Project planning, project planning, ICT in organisations)

Coursework Assessment only by main project (Summative Project Brief, SPB) for each unit, each approximately 30 hours, allowing access to GCSE-equivalent grades
DiDA equivalent to 4 GCSEs

Unit 8 and 14 assessed through coursework assessment. Unit 10 assessed through practical exam (20 hours)

Double Award in Applied ICT - 10 hrs per week in Yr 12, 8 hrs per week in Yr 13

In addition to units taken by Single award students, double award consist of 3 extra units at AS level and 3 extra at A2 level

OCR Nationals Level 3 - 5 hrs per week in Yr 12, 4 hrs per week in Yr 12

4 Creating a digital showcase

+ two other units from a wide range of title

Assessed completely through coursework
