  • Medieval Realms 1000-1500 including the Battle of Hasting, King John, The Black Death, Heraldry and Witchcraft
  • North American Indians - looking at the Native Peoples of North America
  • 1750-1900 Expansion, Trade and Industry including slavery and factory conditions
  • 20th Century World including the Shoah and the  impact of war

All GCSE groups are taught in mixed ability.
Term 1 of Year 9: GCSE Bridging Unit to include First World War, assassination of JFK and the Vietnam War
GCSE Schools History Project (OCR)

Content:

  • Medicine through time (development study)
  • Germany 1918-1945 (depth study)
  • Coursework - Fountains Abbey, local study

Fountains Abbey coursework completed after site visit to the Abbey. This coursework takes place in Year 10.
