BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care

Entry Guidance:

5 GCSEs grades A* - C or equivalent.  The course will only run if a sufficient number of students express an interest.

Syllabus Outline:

Two year course – 360 guided learning hours.

Progression:

Employment within the wide range of people based industries e.g. health, education, social care.

Higher Education – has a value of up to 120 UCAS points, therefore the basis of application to progression to university.

  • Health, safety and security in Health and Social Care

  • Nutrition for Health and Social Care

General Comments:

Each of the units will be assessed internally and moderated by the examining body.  All portfolios will expect students to demonstrate a good level of knowledge and understanding.  In order to achieve the higher grades, students will be expected to collect and analyse information and data and carry out an evaluation of this.   Students will develop high levels of independent skills.
