Initiatives: Performing Arts

Garforth Community College was designated a Specialist Performing Arts College in 2001. This allowed us to develop an exciting range of diverse courses and educational opportunities built around the Performing Arts.

We do not regard ourselves as a 'Performing Arts fame academy', and choose instead to use the additional resources to enrich the arts provision, both at College and with the local network of our primary feeder schools and community groups. This has strengthened our position as a Centre of Excellence and will continue to help us cultivate well-behaved and confident students, equipped with the skills necessary to take up this role and responsibility in the community.
